Youth Group

Youth Ministries strive to include all 6th through 12th grade youth in learning, witnessing, fellowship, fun, and service opportunities.

During this past year service opportunities included:

• Serving at the Sharing Table Community Kitchen
• Raising money for the American Cancer Society/Relay for Life.
• Collecting and assembling school supplies for Lutheran World Relief through the synod youth events
• High School students helped to serve the community through VBS.

Learning and fellowship included:

• Twice-monthly Friday morning youth breakfast with a devotion was offered to local youth from the Kauzlarich family and Von Brown.
• RoadTrip High School Retreat in Ocean City. This is the DEMD synod run retreat in January.
• Lord of Life youth retreat in Ocean City in February was open to all middle and high school youth.
• One week in July was spent at Mar-Lu-Ridge retreat and camp center. All of the youth attending said they had a wonderful time, learned a lot and would love to go back.
• FreeRide Middle School Retreat at North Bay. This DEMD synod event took place in October.
• Saturday night Youth nights included meeting monthly for pizza, games and a devotion. December’s youth night was a Christmas party at the home of the Fishers.

Fund raisers included:

• A Car Wash
• 2 Pancake Breakfasts
• Soup and Salad lunches

Over this next year we look forward to continuing many of the awesome things this past year. We also have two youth who work on their leadership and God-given gifts through the Lutheran Youth Organization of the Delaware-Maryland Synod. Check out the synod web site for more information.

Fundraising is upon us again.  As we prepare for RoadTrip in January, and look ahead to Mar-Lu in the summer, we need to raise funds to ensure that everyone who would like to attend these events is able to.  With that in mind, our next fundraiser is coming right up, starting November 25th, and will be available every Sunday through December 23rd.  We will be providing soup & salad lunches, asking for donations of $5 each.  Also, the youth will be on hand to gift wrap Christmas presents, again for a donation.  We hope that you are able to contribute towards the growing of the seed of faith in these young people.  We also welcome donations of soup.

We also have some youth nights coming up, so mark your calendars!  And, be sure to invite your friends to join us for our youth nights.
